Hi,

I have 2 copies of Karajan conducting Sibelius 6&7 Symphonies DGG 139032 -- both reissues of the 1967 recording, both not Tulips & both different.

One is 130 grams and has a slightly richer sound. The label on this one looks newer to me than the 120 gram still good sounding reissue. Both are 320 stampers.

I am not sure which label goes with which cover. The covers are different and I suspect the one with SLPM on it is the earlier cover.

I may have mixed up the records playing them. Here are pictures of the labels and in a separate post I will attach the cover images.

This Blog site (google translated from Korean):

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Ffischer.egloos.com%2F4035687

does not show the first label exactly but the second one of mine has "sendung vorbehalten" in the two 0'clock position and is similar to the one labeled "GY2." Instead of GEMA in the center left box, the example from the Korean blog has D.G.H:

Any help you can offer I will appreciate.

Stephanie

There are at least 5 differing non Tulip (full price) German DG Yellow labels.
The earliest variant dates from 1969 and has 'Deutsche Grammophon' right @ the top - above the logo.
Your "dgg-139-032-lbl-1.jpg" was used from about 1970/1 up to the mid '70s..(+/-).
The other dates from c.1979 up to c.1982 - but there was a previous widely-spaced version with 'SENDUNG! . ALLE URHEBER' @ the uppermost quadrant.
The top cover goes with the bottom LP.

so in this case the earlier reissue, does sound better by a small increment than the later one.

I did not have them mixed up afterall.

Thanks so much. Hope all is well with you.
