I thought we could start out listing them in the Labelography section. There aren't too many posts in that section. Maybe this would "beef it up".

If it's popular, we can give sleeves their own forum...Discography, Labelography, Sleeve-ography!! If there isn't much action, it would still make sense to put them all into one forum and just re-define it.

That way we'll have cat no./label/sleeve all in one place. Let me know if that makes sense, fellas. Wink

I have little knowledge on sleeve dates, though i can supply a number of scans for plastic & paper sleeves of OZ origin.

This sounds like an astounding idea and it will get my full support.

hrt...if you can provide those 78 sleeve links I will relocate them to one central area.

There may be others, but the thread I was thinking of was this one:
http://recordcollectorsguild.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=52605&highlight=
So many examples that it takes a while to scan through each page to find one or know if you're about to post a duplicate.

I know that a sleeve "category" would be more of a reference tool that people could build on - but it wouldn't likely be getting lots of new posts as time goes on, so there could be practical constraints on that. If it was feasible, maybe there could be a whole "library"-type area.

Just another thought....what's a possible way to keep it all organized? Could we have a section for letters a, b, c, etc., and then we could post sleeves under the appropriate letter?

Come to think of it, maybe longer lasting labels like RCA, Columbia, etc., should have their own sections as well...?

I'm really jazzed about this idea, but I can't quite wrap my brain around the best way to keep it organized. You guys are the pros, so I'll gladly defer to whatever you suggest.

Thanks for considering my idea!

You can organize it any way you want. Whatever is most logical...just make sure to label the individual threads appropriately. "CBS sleeves 19xx - 19xx", for example. As to not have them get confused with CBS labels.

If you are unable to edit, let me or another mod know and we'll take care of it. Individual posts as well as thread titles can be edited. In the name of organization and clarity I think we can all agree that this would not be an issue of censorship.

I'll look into some sort of "sub forum". Right now all I can think of is a bunch of stickies...but that's just one long thread. You would be better off just making normal threads, if that's the case.

For now, start new, clearly labeled threads in the Labelography section. At least that way they're all in one place. We'll break them out later on if need be.

You guys are AWESOME for doing this!! Can't wait to see some good scans Wink

I have begun experimenting with sub-categories. It is currently a work-in-progress. Let me know how it looks, and, above all...if anything gets moved to the wrong place!! Shocked

It might take some time to complete but feedback is welcome!! Very Happy
