Hi Guys,

I did a record fair last year - I was quiet successful but there was alot I learnt about it.

My question is in regards to the filing of artists etc.

Under which letter in the alphabet would you put someone like

Johnny & the Huricanes
Elvis Preistly (you can put him in P or E as his very popular under the name "Elvis")
Pink Floyd - are you putting it under P or F
Led Zeppelin

Or are groups titled under first name not last name but indiviudal artists surname first?

Which way should it be done for maximum sales and ease of browsing.

That's how I'd do it.

And Sid is correct.

And your last two sentences are right on.

It also helps to have a little tab sticking up from the records that says "Elvis" or "Rolling Stones" etc, so that shoppers can get right to what they are looking for.

Pending on how many LP's you have, I tend to do well if I don't organize them at all. Someone looking for Floyd amongst 8 crates might stumble upon something they wouldn't have bought if they just went to the 'Pink Floyd' section. But I usually only have 6-8 crates worth of doubles - If I had several tables it might be another story Smile
