Red Labels, Red Cover with a white bust of Beethoven. All the text is in Russian. The only way I know it's Klemperer is because of a photo on the back of the libretto.

Does this sound like anything that's familiar? I should have wrote the CAT NO down. It does have an EMI logo next to the Russian logo on the box cover, but no where else is the EMI logo present.

Goodwill is officially nuts otherwise I would just buy it. The try to charge you for individual records. Not bad as long as you know what the hell you are looking at. (And believe me, they are nuts)

Otto Klemperer recorded mainly for EMI labels (such as UK Columbia), so any USSR issues likely were licensed (EMI had a licensing deal with Melodiya in the late 1960s). His name is possibly transliterated on Russian/Soviet issue albums as Отто Клемперер ... unless cursive letters are used, in which case it would the name not be as simple to identify. Klemperer recordings are orchestral, whether symphonies, concertos, or operas, and I wouldn't think they have any particular collector demand.

Yeah, you can get a UK pressing of the reissued box on EMI for about $50 or so. There is no need for the Russian.
