Hi Neal-o,
Have u ever encountered this single? On a tiny Houston lbl (Rampart Street Records).
I think it's circa 1970. My question: Was it only distributed/aired in that vicinity, & do u think
it might be found east of TX...(?), i likes that wall of fuzz & gruff/gnarly vocals (thanx Stoney-
now i won't sleep 'til i find one)!! gracias in advance...

If Neal can't help,I'd suggest contacting garage45srule or someone who can provide you with more info regarding this very rare 45. You can also post your question at g45central forum. Good luck.

SHADY SAM

Short story long: a number of years ago, I was hired by an insurance company to assist as their expert witness in a lawsuit involving a very famous horde of one-stop inventory in Texas. I can’t say exact names, locations, etc., but they flew me down to a small town where I could see the Mexican border and put me up in a very nice OLD hotel. (Which, fortunately had several bottles of Laphroig in stock.)

We did all of the filmed depositions over the course of the week. Seems the other guy’s lawyer was record collector and thought he would nail me and my credentials. So, he started off by handing me a box of 45s and EPs and asked me to go through them one by one and remark on them as I saw fit.

VG- Fats Domino EPs with taped spines; Elvis dime-a-dozen RCA singles he probably bought in high school in the ‘50s; etc. Plus the wiseguy through in a bunch of repros (all of which I spotted) and more than a few local Texas label 45s. For the latter, all I could do was say, “They look like local Texas label pressings from an indie outfit that I know nothing about.”

Now, guess what I am gonna say about the Purple Sun –Doomsday record: “Sounds like local Texas label pressing from an indie outfit that I know nothing about.”

Stonewall’s advice below sounds wise.

Now, Sam, where do keep the Laphroig?

WURLITZER

Thank you! I have been working on a blog/website project that now has 3,000 manuscript pages! All I need is a website. I am looking at Thesis WordPress as the basis; it's flexible, easy to use (and that is probably the operative word for me), POTENT, and I can keep it minimalist and use serifed fonts!!!!!! Soon . .

NEAL

PS: So, if anyone here is a Thesis expert, please chime in.

SS

Despite being Irish, I have never been expertly fond of Irish whiskey. Every now and then (in me past life, of course) I used to break down and buy me a bottle of Tullamore Dew. Seems that they ship it in a ceramic "jug" --usually shaped like a lepercon-- to the States for us gullible ones to buy on St. Patty's Day. I can't really say that it tastes THAT different from the regular glass bottled variety, but it SEEMS to taste a wee bit better.
