Found a super rare copy of Drywater's, "Backbone of the Nation" LP. It was 1 of 25 pressed by the band back in 1973 on the original RPC label. There has been some new awareness of the band sing last year's reissue of this band and LP from Time-Lag records. I know that back in 2003 a couple were sold by the band to a collector in Texas for $100 each after the collector inquired about when the collector scored one at a yard sale, there is a rumor that another sold in recent years on eBay for close to $700, and a sealed copy was sold to a collector in Switzerland directly from the band for $1000. The LP has some very light marks but play through with no problem, probably VG to VG+, and the cover has one split on the bottom the is about 4.5" long, no visible ring-wear, probably VG. Any ideas to value? I want to sell this copy but it's hard to know where to start.

Hello and welcome to the RCG.

Considering the rarity of the record, it comes as little surprise that you've yet to have response to your query. What research you've done is perhaps the best indication of potential resale value.

Last two on popsike went for less than $40, and that's this year, the good news, thats the reissue.. Best bet, let the market decide.

Change that, the best bet is to let as many forums and collectors know what you have got, basically pimp your record round as many sites as you can without annoying the regulars too much. Let people know you have a copy. I cannot see a copy on DISCOGS so make sure you upload an image, cat number and all the info on there.
