surface.I have a couple of records that have noise from sticker residue on my playing surface.
Would lighter fliud work,tried distilled water,doesn`t work.

Goo Gone. Put a coating on, leave it on for ten minutes or so, then work it in with your finger, rinse off with water and dish soap, then a normal clean with alcohol/distilled. Lighter fluid will loosen up a bit of glue but it re-hardens immediately as the fluid evaporates.

      Stephen, I if the residue doesn't cover the label or at least partial, you shouldn't use lighter fluid, otherwiseI always use it and peel off the pollution immediately, using carefully a wooden tooth stick, without any issue yet. I don't know what Goo Gone is, therefore I haven't tried it.
