Does anyone know approximately how many Stereo 78s were pressed/ I have one by Joyce Bradley on Mercury 70716. That particular record does NOT appear in the Online Discographical Project.

As a follow up, the Online Discographical Project does not list 70714, 70715, 70717 & 70718 so it's possible these numbers may also be Stereo.

Please post a link to the ODP page. I'm not familiar with it.

Thank you, cf. On your Bradley 78 - is it stated on the label that it's a stereo pressing? I have one stereo 78 which was released in the late 1970's as a promotional item. It contains 2 tunes from the Champagne Charlie album by Leon Redbone.

The link below may pose more questions than it answers. It was all I could find on the subject,

Yes, it says "Sterophonic Fidelity." I have queried Osborne Enterprises, the publisher of the "Rockin' Records" record guide and they stated that in their opinion, Mercury used the term Stereophonic as their version of "High Fidelity." I did find it strange that this record was not listed in The Online Discographical Project. Thanks for the link. It was very insightful.

I'm curious, have you actually played it to verify stereo or mono?

I have no 78 RPM stereo pressings prior to 1960, all mono. Out of 8,000+ 78s, the number of post 1957 78s I have is a tiny amount.

I do have several recent issue microgroove stereo 78s, for example Bryan Wright's "Bix Beiderbecke's Modern Piano Suite" on Rivermont Records.
