Are you looking for original 78 paper sleeves or new?

Does anyone have an answer to the original post? I have a bunch of 78's that I bought off of a family friend who had them in the family for years....unfortunately a few of them are without sleeves and I was wondering how easy it would be to get originals or replicas. Failing that new ones.....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for new ones, check out sites like bagsunlimited.com. Here's a specific link to their 78s sleeve page:

If you want vintage sleeves, I've seen them being in sold in lots on ebay.

For smaller quantities, it'll be hard to beat the price at KAB.

have you bought any 78 sleeves from them dave? are they as heavy as the original ones? it says 28 lbs but i don't know how thick that is. i do know if you buy the new 45 radio station sleeves they aren't nearly as thick as the old ones .best way to get good sleeves is buy cheap 78s [or 45s] with the old heavy radio station sleeves, shuck the records and donate the bare records to the thrift store.

I bought a large quantity (5,000 IIRC) from Bags Unlimited a few years ago. No, they are not as heavy as the old green sleeves from 60-70 years ago. AFAIK, you can't buy heavier sleeves from the current sources.
