Another good one from the Everly Bros., 1950's or before the British Invasion, Just in Case. The duo really made some great music and is one of the few artists whose B sides were usually as good as the A.

"Brown Eyed Handsome Man", a good one by Chuck Berry, but I was listening to Buddy Holly's version, wow!! It's even better!

Has anybody caught the baseball terminology error in "Brown Eyed..."? Listen for "Two-three count, and nobody on.." Two balls and three strikes?
Anyway, one Buddy Holly song sure to make the mix tapes for the car is "Rock Around With Ollie Vee".

i remember that line wand but i never thought of it being backwards, balls are always in front of strikes.

And both versions are tough to find on 45s. It's too bad that most people associate Buddy with just the hits - one spin of "Rock Around With Ollie Vee" may win more converts to the "unknown" sides.

Another Buddy Holly song that you sadly never hear on the radio, "Love's Made a Fool of You".

This almost classifies as a novelty, but a great song by the Five Keys, "That's Right".

Another goofy one is "The Juicy Crocodile" by The Cellos - it's a B-side, but that sucker belongs on WFMU's playlist.
