Hey all,
Do any of you guys have a favorite country music album? Mine is Johnny Cash With His Hot And Blue Guitar. Cool

Please no comments about how you think country music sucks.

I tend to think of country more as songs than albums. But that JC would be an exception.
I have an LP by the Willis Brothers--forget the title--that I like to listen to in its entirety. Fun truck-drivin' songs. Cool
Also, more recently, Randy Travis Storms of Life.

there are a few things that i dislike, ac/dc, tapioca pudding, and country music. HOWEVER, country music has done so much for the music that I love It can not go ignored.

Ween, 12 golden country greats is an awesome album
Jerry Garcia... bluegrass and country roots, made him an icon.

Johnny Cash was awesome, I saw him in concert and it was perfection.
ray charles was also pretty good on the country side of things.

the country music that has come out in the last 15-25 years has no appeal to me. it is like country-pop music. and i guess that is how music digresses.

as do i

I've got three that I can't pick between, and I like them each for different reasons - my faves:

Roger Miller, Dang Me
Waylon Jennings, Dreaming my Dreams
Bob Wills, For the Last Time

God, I just love those records. It's hard to argue against that Johnny Cash album though - he was the singer that got me started on both country music and record-collecting in the first place.

Junior Brown "Semi Crazy". That album got me into playing (or trying to play) steel guitar. Very Happy
