Is ''neo-rannaissance'' a real term, or did I just coin another incredibly fashionable music related word???? I'm still waiting for ''krautronica'' to catch on.

Anyway, I'm glad you like Lord of the Ages, Pacey. I guess I need to listen to it again to see what you see in it.

Also, I have been listening to my new Quatermass LP. Thanks to Sam and Chewy for the recommendation. I still need to get into it more, but I really like parts of it. Parts are a little too bluesy and languid for my tastes, but the up-tempo stuff is good. File with bands like Rare Bird, Greenslade and Gracious.

Metrognome: sorry if this was already covered (I had afew daquiris and I'm too lazy to
search!): Do you have/would you consider the 1968 Elektra 'Eclection' album prog? I
love that album above all other folky/soft/obscure Elektras of that era/genre...

Highway sojourn music... but beware, highway hipgnosis could be lurking... Shocked

Hey Shady,I'll have to give the Eclection lp another spin.I picked it up awhile back and played it once but i didn't take to it right away.I'll have some spare time coming up this week so i'll have to give it another chance. Thanks for reminding me about this lp,i forgot i had it!

I like the term Neo-Renaissance! Can't think of any other band that do it quite like Amazing B do...

is their a holy-grail 45 on Elektra, yet waiting for these ears... Question Question

Elektra's UK branch was ahead of its time. Blame Joe Boyd, Elektra/UK's first manager, and Clive Selwood, who succeeded him. Elektra/UK issued a number of titles, which Jac apparently didn't think worthy of release in the USA (for whatever reason*), such as an LP by Alasdair Clayre, an EP by Sydney Carter, and Leviathan's 2nd and 3rd singles (the LP was shelved), to name a few.

Eclection's lone US single was a coupling of ''Nevertheless''/''Mark Time'' (Elektra EK-45637) -- WLP copies seem to be the more common. The non-LP ''Please'' was redone as ''Please - Mk II'' and both were issued as singles in UK only.

-------------------------
* Presumably the inability to market any of it as a single. AMMmusic's total lack of commercial appeal should explain why it was never even considered.
