I'm sure I'm not the only one to buy a crappy 45 just to get the obscure adapter. Any others to add?

Oh yeah, those metal adaptors are the work of the devil. Twisted Evil

I haven't really tried to take one out. I'm afraid of breaking the record.

( ( ( ( ( ((((((( Cool
The one in the center from the bottom line was the most common in German 45's!
    Shocked very happy

And the center was INCLUDED with the record - I found a few like that recently. If you find any, leave the centers IN! They're part of the complete package!
Wurl, I had no idea Columbia made an "optional center" 45...that's pretty neat.
Pfanstiehl also made a version of one of those killer metal adapters. I was surprised to find a recent bunch of 80s releases with those bad boys stuck on.

vinylfool, the last one in the top row & the last one in the middle row are the rarest. I have never seen any other basic styles, I think you have all that I have seen here in the USA, perhaps our friends in other countries can come up with some variations in color of the plastic ones. I might add that I fill the hole in the plastic ones with epoxy & mill a new hole off center for records that are pressed off center.

moe, you can get 2 of the die-cast ones & polish them [die cast really shines when polished] & make a pair of earrings for yourself. You could also get one of those die-cast adapters & make 1 earing for a guy-----
