I do not believe that there was a promo label pressing of LEEDS. Who completists who know better, please chime in. . .

NEAL

There wasn't a promo label. All promo copies I've seen are the same as the stock label but have a red "sample copy" sticker somewhere on the back cover.

Hello, can anyone help me. My husband recently found the attic of a home in the process of being torn down a demo record from rock band "The Who" along with various papers, song lyrics, letters and contracts from 1964-1969. One contract is from looks to be from when they were contracted to do "Woodstock". Everything is intact but not in the best of condition. Has 2 photos of the band included. 1 photo has lyrics hand written on the back with a music grid no notes on it but is hand drawn. Looking to find value for these items.

Hello elliescreations and welcome to the RCG!

Would this by chance be the LP "Live At Leeds"? If so, it was a major label release intended to look like a bootleg or test pressing.

Yes...these were standard inserts in the original release of "Live at Leeds". While it is more desirable than the subsequent re-issues that did not contain the inserts, it is not of extreme value.

Here is a thread that lists the 12 inserts that the LP should contain. It should also be a plain brown cover that opens up like a book. The name of the band and LP should be "stamped" on the front cover.

And, a Wiki page...

Hello again!

This records cover is a cardboard sleeve. Only half on one side. Do you think it's worth anything? Or the other papers found with it?

IMO, maybe 5 bucks if all of the inserts are there. I found my copy at a buy/sell/trade store for a couple bucks in VG+ shape.

This LP with all the inserts and everything in really great condition can be had for less than $20.

I remember years ago we found a letter inside a copy an original copy of a quick one, we were not aware at the time of the live at leeds inserts, we were freaking out for a while, the thing that got us was it really looked signed, in blue ink. It shoud have been april 1st
