Very nice, Ben! Sister Rosetta is still sadly underrepresented in my collection. I only have this EP.
Love the photo credit of “Melody Maker”. It’s a much used Valerie Wilmer taken at the Marquee Club in London. The material on the EP was from a 14 song session for Mercury recorded at COGIC, New York 9 Sept 1958 12 of which became the LP Sister Rosetta Tharpe - The Gospel Truth (MG 20412); but the EP liner notes probably tell you this anyway.

Thanks, Ben!

There´s something about those red vinyl Peacock gospel 45´s that I just can´t seem to resist.

The only Peacock gospel I own were LPs purchased mid-late 60s when trying to broaden my musical horizons! Laughing

How's this for a record label's name...and label design?

Great. It's prompted me to look up the label in Laughton & Haye's post war Gospel discography and it was a very prolific concern, recording mostly one off 45s of obscure gospel groups and like.

That group there, as the label says, was from Harrisburg, right across the river from me (I guess they made the trek to New Jersey to record at Golgotha's studio). Here's my needledrop of it:

Sweet, Lamas! No red vinyl this time, but still a very nice record featuring Joe Hinton.

Found me some old store stock 45´s on the Peacock label for 3 dollars a pop. Two really nice ones by the Five Blind Boys. "Our Father" is a killer! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMyPQlKITTU

I also found these two very nice 45´s by the Sunset Travelers. Do you recognize the lead singer? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR6Q4yPXyxw
