Do you file under M for McCartney or under W for Wings?

Of course. if it is a McCartney album, or W for Wings, or B for Beatles.

I file it under M for McCartney because there are McCartney albums that are not Wings, but there are no Wings albums are not McCartney. This way I can keep all of the solo McCartney albums together in one spot. I actually keep the solo Beatles' releases grouped just behind The Beatles' albums. My filing system is probably screwed up to most people. I know where to look, but most people would get confused looking through my records. I keep all the bands local to the Cleveland/Youngstown, Ohio area separate from everything else also. I use alphabetical order but only after my little sub sections.

Not so: there was an earlier Wings (Dunhill DS 50046, Nov. 1968) ... see http://www.bsnpubs.com/abc/dunhill/dunhill.html. However, this does not invalidate your filing method.
