fire sleeve -- this is the one i sent for the trade, i'm trying globaldogs suggestions for enlarging my scans.

I received one of those FIRE sleeves when I purchased my one-sided EP of "There Is Something... Pts. 1&2" by Bobby Marchan. Not sure if it originally came that way.

windsor, sets in order, & several other "dance" labels seem to be around in fairly plentiful numbers, i would always buy the square dance ones to sell, none of the others.

You are braver than I.

i happened to be in slc when the "dance label" from there went out of business in the early 90s i think. i saw an add in the newspaper for a going out of business sale so i stopped by their warehouse hoping to find a box of the beach boys slc 45 or something desirable, instead i walked out with 2 fairly big boxes of square dance 45s with the call sheets for about one dollar total. i took them back to the record shop & before i could get them unpacked in comes my old friend bob ensign from Missouri, he's with a cross country trucker who has a schedule to maintain & spots the 45s with the call sheets, says "i'll take these", and leaves without paying. i never collected any money from bob for anything he wanted, he always paid me back with leads for great records. i'd travel to his shop at campbell city, mo & he'd first tell the customers that were looking at records in his shop they have to leave now, shoo them out the door, lock up & take me out to lunch & then he'd say: "you need to go check this out", the leads never failed to generate many good records for practically nothing. bob has gone on to the big turntable in the sky but i still think of him whenever the topic is "C&W records", he loved them. RIP my friend.

How about a BLACK PATTI 78 rpm sleeve? Here's one that sold on Ebay for $799. Shocked

Considering it was taped, something I hate and should have driven down it's value, I would have to agree.

Well the "cheaper" one is probably not quite such a good deal.
I just looked -the guy who bought the 2 BP 78's got the "cheap" sleeve too but missed out on that one
You gotta say 'Damn"

5 grand for 2 78's and a sleeve. Good to see we ain't all broke - I think?

i remember these sleeves, they're made from a very thick paper, much thicker that the 50s sleeves. that's a lot of money for something that's not R&R. we have pics of 2 black patti sleeves but still no westport one.

At the first flea market of the year, I came across a guy who had some nice 50s-vintage 45s..but all were $2 each and most of them were contemporary. When I saw one particular factory sleeve, I knew I couldn't just buy the sleeve alone so I had to shell out two bucks for a Fats Domino record I didn't need. But I did it for the sake of securing a Class Records sleeve which seldom turns up.
