Seems I should've found it by now; does anyone have a discography for, or a method to, date Columbia classical LPs?

Some Columbia LPs have Library Of Congress file numbers printed on the back cover, but that's usually the 1960s & 70s releases IIRC. The LOC number would at least give you the year it was issued. Otherwise, it's tough to date Columbia LPs.

The record you have would be late 40s to mid 50s, based on label color and design.

Take a look at this website, featuring a Columbia Classical labelography:

The Bruno Walter was recorded December 29, 1952; 30th Street Studio, New York

There's a 'non-classical' Columbia discography here:- http://www.bsnpubs.com/columbia/columbiastory.html
- other labels on:- http://www.bsnpubs.com/discog.html

Somewhere there is/was a Japanese site for mono (only?) Columbia Masterworks - with sleeve-pics - but don't seem to have a retained file/link.

Michael Gray's Columbia Masterworks discography is currently only available via archived pages (12 - some may be missing):- http://web.archive.org/web/20070609132714/www.charm.kcl.ac.uk/content/gray_disco/american/columbia1.html

The pages I checked work, and I was able to find the release date of my record (12-29-52) easily enough; thanks for the link!
