Remember the balsa wood gliders that sold for 10 cents?

There were two kinds when I was a kid: one where the front wing went in the middle of the fuselage and one with the wings held on top by a plastic red clip. The wings tended to come off in strong winds with the ones that used the clip, but the other one eventually would split from the wing being in the middle but you could do some good flying tricks with it.

Yep, the 60's. Had some great fun with those.

Another popular toy were plastic rockets. You filled the nose cone with caps and threw them.

Also, there were these hollow plastic ones that you filled with water and pumped air into them. Once released from the pump, they would rocket into the air soaking you with water.

I used to get those from the dentist office when I was a kid, except by the time I came around they were made of styrofoam and usually didn't actually do much aside from making a very feeble loop and then nosediving to the ground... They were still fun anyway though, because I would pretend I was Snoopy in his World War I flying ace... persona thingy. Very Happy

Wing-windows, the predecessor to air conditioning. The other great thing about wing-windows was they were cheaper to replace when you had to bust them out because you locked your keys in the car.
