Here one by the Quin-Tones and one by the Ivy Tones. The flip side of the Red Top 45 is a great doo wop ballad where the lead singer really sings in a heart break key!

This is a really nice one by the Smart Tones and has anyone ever heard of a bad record by the Five Royales?

No! The 5 Royales were amazing, and Lowman Pauling is one of the most under-appreciated greats in music, period (imo). I have the QuinTones and the Dubs 45s; that Elegants and Shields are probably two of the more common doo woppers. But love the looks of the Turks, Ivy Tones and Smart Tones - nice scores!

You're right, Vinylhound.
This is the difference between actively pursuing great records -- from eBay or from other collectors -- and doing the musty-dusty scavenger hunt with fingers crossed.
I do far more of the latter, and seeing things like T-Bone has posted here makes me realize, sadly, that I am indeed little more than a cheap-ass accumulator.

Wot-this one!
I agree -not quite as polished

Funny that the Ivy Tones I have is a wlp and I've seen a few others but only 1 stock copy.
Not sure what that means but it's interesting

Well, where Im at theres no chance in hell that I would find anything like these at my local thrift stores! Laughing Im still doing the musty-dusty scavenger hunt with my fingers crossed every now and then. However, I almost always end up finding exactly nothing...Im trying to be a chep-ass accumulator on the Internet, though. Laughing

Yes, thats the one Im talking about, Fireflite! I just had to have that Shields version. Im one of those middle-aged persons who idolizes Johnny Guitar Watson a little more than people in general...
