I think itīs about time to reactive this thread. For me the Turbans craze continues. "It Was A Night Like This" completes my collection of their Herald releases and I just canīt seem to get "The Damage Is Done" out of my head.

OK, Iīll lay off the Turbans records for a while. The first 45 by the Sharps is a real double-sider. The flip really rocks; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=At6R0YfcKtA

The second one is Falconīs (as Recordfan put it) "no big deal" first 45 on Mercury. Not too bad and kind of bluesy backing by Willie Dixonīs band.

I love that Sharps' 45. But I think my copy is a repro.

The Heartbreakers is a nice Frankie Lymon sounding group and the flip contains two good tracks by the Sharps. The other one is a nice double-sider, you can listen to the plug side here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TZlIxj9m1A

The Gainors is probably best known for their song "The Secret", but I canīt help but liking this one as well. Itīs catchy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q7QLg-Oge0

I believe the Spark 45 is a somewhat later pressing of this classic Robins track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCRMOQIkJIs

Those1957 Heartbreakers sides are among my favorites, but I've never seen that promo before! COOOL!
Here a link to a picture of the group (that's Paul on top).

Note the writer of the second song, "Shirley Elliston". She herself would go on to record a few sides in the early to mid-1960's. Her first was on the Shell label, which can be heard here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLzIHFZ-drQ

After shortening her name a little, to "Shirley Ellis", a few more sides would become better known ("The Nitty Gritty", "The Name Game")...

I really like this Champions 45 on Chart. Two rocking doo wop sides;

The End 45 I believe is the Chatels first record. Quite similar to their big hit "Maybe".
