This isn't his best hit single but it's one I feel very close to. Bobby Darin was a better songwriter than he's given credit for even though most of his best known work is by other writers. He began to write more A sides when he signed with Capitol in 1962 and this is one of them. A few months after this was a hit, "Then He Kissed Me" by The Crystals made the charts with an extremely similar melody.
