Last weekend's flea market had to have one idiot: a guy whose albums (which were nothing special) were priced hilariously. When I saw $19.95 on a copy of "Double Fantasy", I stopped looking.

The local Thrift sold a Beatles US Revolver Stereo Copy with light brown stains on the cover for $20. Again, are these sellers clueless, or are the buyers clueless. I did not see the condition of the record or even what pressing it was.

I get frustrated with this, too. But I always go ahead and look through the bins anyway. These guys tend to overlook valuable classical and jazz. I've had a few instances where I pass over a $30 copy of Cosmo's Factory and then get to a $1 Blue Note LP or something similar.

Those who think they know everything are a pain to those of us who do. I remember one clown who looked at my stack of picked-out 45s and let them go for a flat $1.00 each "except for the Elvis one - I got to get $5 on that". I didn't mind paying the premium, especially for a near-mint "Surrender" in Living Stereo with the factory sleeve - stupid idiot could've made the $400 I made on it later!

Rolling Eyes

The clueless sellers at the local thrift sold three beat up Beatles records for $10 a piece.

No, they're just followers of one of the Commandments Of Records: "If it's a Beatles record, it's worth a lot of money, regardless of condition". I made a whole list of lies like this - I was planning to write a book about it but I didn't think there'd be a huge audience for it.

Funny thing, the Half Price store in my area has Herb Alpert's first album on new vinyl for around $14! Who would think it would be a current reissue when his records are so common, and if you bide your time, you can find one in NM condition.
