Hello everyone, I am a new member here so be gentle....

Finding information on the internet is a joke. Every search engine wants you to buys something.

I was able to find some info and was hoping you guys could drive it home for me....

Cataloging my collection I found a Doors gold label stereo Strange Day. In the dead wax is a date on side one. It says 09-20-67. Is this the copyright date? Or something else?

I see the album was released Sept. 25 of that year.

Thank you in advance......

It was first released then. I will check mine to see if it's dated as well. I wish the date of pressing was on all LPs.

It is the date the master disk for that side was cut. Any information you find in the trailout ("dead wax") area normally refers either to the master disk, or the metal-work (matrix or stamper) plated from the master disk, not to the finished product.

I have a gold label monaural pressing without dates in the dead wax. Our own SID was nice enough to hook me up with it a few years ago.
