If your turntable has everything setup right there should be no problems for awhile.
What i am thinking of doing is recording all my records to CDs so I can play them anytime I want and never worry about scratches or anything.

Annaloog,
You mean you have time to go to the bathroom, make a sandwich and get a drink. By that time, the record will have "cooled" down, just in time for you to enjoy again!

Cujo,
I know a guy who had aa collection of some 70,000 LP's (that's right...70,000). He recorded most of these onto tapes and therefore only played each LP once. Not only that, he removed each record from its jacket and stored the jacket and record separately so as to avoid ring wear. Yes...basically his entire house was devoted to record storage. The result? Lots of NM LP's with NM jackets!! Fanatical but effective!

Well, you might be like Kramer and prepare your meals in the shower...
