Here's my new cartridge and stylus playing Van Morrison MAGIC TIME. Optimum tracking force is 1.25 grams, but with the dynamic stabalizer in place (the dust/static brush) the tone arm is set for 1.75 grams since the presence of the brush reduces the weight by .5 grams. At first I thought, "Why the hell would I use that thing?" But it didn't take long to realize the beauty of it. I mean, I do live in nearly the dustiest place on earth since relative humidity is 10-30 percent most of the time, and the gravel road I live on is right outside my saw-dusty picture frame making studio! Laughing

Thanks again to fellow members Ryaud for the Shure and SID for helping me raise the funds to get it! WOOHOO!

It's perfect. Thanks, guys. Really. It's getting warmer and sweeter sounding all the time. And it's getting broken in really quickly! I'm making a big ol' frame with lots of studio time involved, and I'm carving and designing and gluing and playing the hell outta records! Allan Holdsworth, John Hammond, Steve Tibbetts, Billy Cobham, Terje Rypdal, Steve Hackett, Juicy Lucy, Rush, Keith Tippett Group, Eddie Harris, Woody Shaw, Ian Hunter, Sweet (The Sweet), Flying Burrito Bros., Van Morrison, and much more besides. WOOHOO!

That's the one, Andres! This pic is from a few years ago when it had an Audio Technica on it. That's actually what was outfitted on it when I found this unit in the thrift store....for $5! Laughing I have the dustcover removed in this pic.

Its a lovely player!!! I saw the automatic arm and after a bit of googling found the model that looked similar, I'm not one of those incredible gear experts that can make out any TT hahaha. I dig that big E label Doors also!!!
