"Slow Down" by Larry Williams, though it took the Beatles to get it on the charts, Williams does a great version that should at least have made the Hot 100.

Either one Sid, just good music that never got any recognition.

As a recording engineer, I was privy to many great recordings that never even got released. You'd be amazed at some of the stuff that's sitting in the archives of both record companies and recording studios.

"Slow Down" was the flip side of "Dizzy Miss Lizzie" (Specialty 626) the latter which did make Billboard's charts in 1958.

Now and then, some CD's on specific artists and compilations have unreleased material, and it is amazing that such good music never made it to the public.

I have one anthology of the Tornados with such material. In their later years, they did some great vocals, but the record company wouldn't release them because the Tornados were "an instrumental group"!

A series of compilation CD's, "Lost Legends of Surf Guitar" also has some tracks that fall into this category.
