I thought I'd share this lesser known Canadian folk/psych LP. It was very hard for me to put a value on this, given that popsike values are all over the place (as are the conditions) and it has trended way down since the mid 2000s. Suffice to say it probably wouldn't qualify for the Super Collectibles forum (at least not anymore). Anyway, I found this a thrift store and by the cover I knew it was something special. According to one of the auctions I looked at, it was in 1001 Collector Dreams by Hans Pokora, but I couldn't find it in there in the quick skim I did (it wasn't under USA or Great Britain, and I didn't see a Canada section - are there Canada sections in the later Collector Dreams books?). The cover is a punchout but other than that it's in very nice shape. The record is visually very nice and shiny, and on playback is relatively quiet but still a few pops and blemishes here and there; I may give it a bath eventually once I get the hang of the Spin Clean. I listened to it for the second time as I was putting this post together and it's not bad, but it doesn't blow me away yet.

I listened to this album at the record store awhile ago and remember not really getting into it. More Folk than Psych. It was not the original, but a reissue. The Allied label from Canada put out a bunch of stuff, didn't they ?

I'm not sure, it's the only time I've ever seen the label (this is number 11 in their catalog); in my research I imagine the reissue you listened to was the one that was put out on Void Records. This is the only info I was able to find about the label, Reign Ghost and Plastic Cloud sound vaguely familiar and the Reign Ghost cover looks somewhat familiar. I'd have to agree with that assessment, the psych parts to me are probably as psych as late 60s Donovan would be considered (it actually reminds me a bit of him when I was thinking about it) and the production is rather stripped down/low budget to my ears. Now that you got me thinking about the label I'll have to keep those other two bands in mind when I'm digging, though I'll have to be even luckier to find one of them in a thrift I think.

The Folklords reissue was on Void from NJ.

Yes,originals of the Plastic Cloud and the Reign Ghost lp's are hard to find and will be quite expensive. I have a reissue of the Plastic Cloud one. Good stuff.

Yep, in about '05-'07 it was going for $300-400 according to popsike, but demand seems to have tapered off significantly, and I haven't been able to substantiate the claim that this was in a Hans Pokora Record Collector Dreams book.
