I have a few 8" audiodisc recording blanks (unused). They looked moldy when I opened them. they have been fermenting for quite a while. I did a gentle soap sud wash- it removed the very surface mold. But there is still a scuzzy/ sticky film. I think they might be metal underneath. Should I be using an alcohol water mix, or is there a safer or better cleaning solution? Thanks very much-m

If they have a metal core, don't use alcohol!! I once tried this on an acetate and the surface started to dissolve immediately. I don't know what kind of records you have, but I wanted you to know about my issue. .

This one looks exactly like my acetate records, the second hole is for an additional pin, to avoid it from slipping during the recording. Therefore it was wise to ask before using alcohol or any other aggressive substance. Well done!
