Right now, he's getting snowed on and he doesn't seem to give a damn. This is very cool.

while i'm out fishing on the river several kinds of eagles and osprey soar overhead riding the wind currents from the deep river canyon in which i live. we also have some very big hawks here. they all like the river because it's a constant source of food. sometimes i just sit on the river bank and watch the trout feed and the birds soar. i can catch trout any time. whether hunting, fishing, or simply hiking always take time to look around you and enjoy your surroundings.

One of the reasons I like the Eagle Cam is that when I was around 13 through 17 years old I lived in upstate NY, "in the woods and on the mountain". I was about a quarter of a mile from the Delaware River and every year in late winter/early spring, I watched the eagles fish in the river and the eaglets learning to fly. Living there, among the trees, I saw every kind of bird and animal the North East had to offer up close and personal. I spent a lot of time in the Pines and it was pretty fantastic at the time.

The Eagle was standing post straight for a few minutes this morning. Now he has decided to sit down and he's looking around...constant vigilance are his watch words, it seems.

I'm fortunate to be living about 200 yards from the Shoshone River in NW Wyoming. During winters here I routinely see bald and golden eagles flying along the river and roosting in the cottonwood trees near my house. Now that I have a litter of Mini Aussie pups I have to be careful when letting the little nippers outside to pee. They'd easily be carried away by an eagle.

CC, that is what happened to an elderly lady's pet shih tzu that I know. But it was a huge hawk that picked the little shih tzu up and took flight with it. So very sad. All the lady could do was stand there and watch the bird take off with her little pup.

I was looking on the Facebook page of this eagle and it was attacked by a Great Horned Owl the other night on 2/18. "Fortunately, everyone is fine and the female fended off the invader." said on Facebook.

Here is a video on YouTube of the attack. You can see it around 0:52 seconds.

You can also view the eggs.
