Hi All,

thought I's do a wee intro here.

I'm based in Ireland and over the last 4 years have returned to Vinyl.

When I first started working about 25 years ago I saved for a few weeks
and bought myself a Technics system and I'm still using it today!

I still have all my old vinyl which if I do say so myself has aged very well
after being transported from house to house over the years without seeing
the light of day.

Among my small "specialised" collection is a lot of Thin Lizzy with some nice Irish Pressings.
Some Led Zeppelin, Hendrix and Janes Addiction.

What got me back into Vinyl was a song by Kings Of Leon . . . I heard "Mollys Chambers"
on the radio one evening in the car and really connected with the simple southern rock.

I went online digging around for the band and came across some of their vinyl . . .
ad here I am!

I have been snooping around RCG since yesterday and decided to "enrol"
its quite a lively spot from what I can see.

I wont be able to add anything technical or knowledgable to the threads here
but from what I can see I wont be needed as there are quite a few who
know the business inside and out . . . which is handy !

Alan

I see you've made it to the right place, Alan. And so, once again and more properly, Welcome to the RCG. You may be surprised to find how much you will be able to contribute. Glad to have you aboard.

That is quite a coincidence since The title is taken from a line in Thin Lizzy's version of the traditional Irish folk song "Whiskey in the Jar".

thanks rooster!

Hey CaptainVague . . .

hmm correct those two words are in whiskey in the jar, that never clicked
even though I have head that "traditional" song for many years sung
both traditionally and by Lizzy.

cool thanks for opening my ears!

Hey, Alan, good to have you! Greetings from a fellow Irishman (my grandpa was a Doyle, fresh from Ireland).........
There are loads of great folks here, and the best thing is, they're from all over the world!
