. . . or lack of it

I just took delivery via standard post of a 12" single
which arrived in a jiffy padded bag from an ebay seller?
no stiffening card used at all,
so all 4 corners of the cover have been bent both ways several
times on their journey to me.

should I return this?

::. as it has happened to everyone of us:

-- take pictures of the record and envelope
-- contact the seller and tried to get the refund and return it.
-- some experienced seller would say: keep the record and here's your refund.
-- if not, contact PayPal and/or eBay for buyer protection.

Let us know who's this seller! Confused

thanks aravel.

yea i was just writing a response and i'm thinking
its going to cost me the same amount of money to return
as the refund . . . most sellers will not refund postal costs

I think the seller sells mostly CD's so in fairness he may not be
clued in to the "vinyl scene" ?

lets see what happens . . .

Ebay's Buyer Protection thingamajig forces sellers to refund both sides postage. If the seller doesn't agree to that, file a case with Ebay - you'll get a prepaid sticker to send it back to the seller (and Ebay will promptly charge the cost of the sticker to the seller).

Hey guys, its resolved quickly and smoothly!!

seller refunded 50% of my cost which was about 4.50
I agreed to this as I still have a battered record Smile and its not too much money.

the saddest part is I dont think the vinyl ever saw a needle and I can only
imagine the sleeve was almost perfect or excellent condition as there is absolutely
no wear on the edges and no visible handling signs, even though
the listing mentioned some slight corner creasing.

If it was for 15+ I would be looking for a full refund for sure. its good to know
that - HeartShapedBox -

thanks again for the replies.
