Under his given name, Leo Morris, he played on countless sessions for Blue Note Records. RIP

I didn't recognise the name, but it would appear that I have several of his records. Thanks for the beats and much respect Mr. Muhammad !

RIP Idris Muhammad (born Leo Morris)

He played on Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill" and was the drummer on the early Specialty recordings from Larry Williams. He played drums with many Rock'n'Roll acts of the fifties.

I met him once and he signed an LP for me and an old Larry Williams Specialty record.

Another great musician is gone...let his music live on.

Hello HamYardie,
well I have found nothing really detailed, but I found this blogspot with a review of a CD with Larry Williams Specialty material and there he is mentioned.

Another site with some infos about his musically life:

http://www.concordmusicgroup.com/artists/Idris-Muhammad/

And here you can read an interview, were he tells the story himself:

I hope that helps a bit.
