::: Ok

Trying to be brief.

New U2 album is going to be releasead on October 13th. CD and 2Lp White Vinyl album.

Grammy Academy has a deadline on September 30th.

U2 record company presses limited quantities of a 12" black vinyl, record with white label LP (that looks like a test pressing, generic white jacket included, credits attached on the back printed on stickers), to be sold commercially in-store-only, not on-line, to be elegible to enter for the 'Best Rock Album' or 'Best Album 2014" Category.

Some independent stores were told by Interscope record to be sold by suggested price of $19.99 USD...some buyers said they "saw" like 3 or 4 copies only" on every lucky store who had them for sale.

Early yesterday, these LPs were sold on eBay, some for buy it now, for $350 USD

Today, some auction-style sales, were around $600 USD or $850 USD, and many days left.

An instant collectible, made by some new fans, with new credit cards...totally ridiculous that this new release has reached those prices of other very well known U2 Vinyl collectible records (coloured 70's singles, numbered 80's EPs, ALbum Promos, etc)

Tried to contact some NYC friends from the U2 club, they said they rushed to the music stores and the answer was the same: "...some guy bought them all..." ...so typical...a la Record Store Day. Confused

New vinyl has become the baseball cards of the 21st century.

A sad state of affairs. I know you're a fan and it must be so frustrating to see this sort of 'collectible' pricing madness.

I'm just pissed that I hadn't for foresight to buy the first few offered on eBay for $200 each!

::. Now that's a collection! KarlOff!

Cactus, yes it is frustrating, as my U2 vinyl collection has the most holes, since there's too many variant labels, promos and colored stuff pretty expensive, besides this
the missus has always that look in her eyes everytime I come homw with new records, you guys know that look.. Confused

I know that look well amigo Wink I also know first hand how frustrating this kind of thing is. The instant collectible aspect of this hobby is killing it. Just stay on that wave as long as you can, eventually everyone else will fall off and the prices will drop.
