Well, I never noted it as "fact" on my copy of "Leader..." so I'll just store it in the back of my mind as a "maybe".
Although I'm not a big Chipmunks fan, I couldn't resist picking up a record by their hip rodent cousins, The Nutty Squirrels. Found a copy of "Uh Oh" with the picture sleeve for $8 - a small fortune, but I'd never seen it before.

I got that too! No picture sleeve, though. Like you said, you can't resist picking it up.

A little novelty trivia for yez: Allan Sherman's "breakthrough" recording of "Sarah Jackman" was NOT released as a single until it was reissued in the early-70's as the flip of "Hello Muddah...". Didn't know this until I found a copy.

I waned to add one more to the list: "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Dare To Be Stupid" on the Scotti Bros. label - it's a common song as an LP track but as a 45...I have only ever found ONE copy.

Weird Al does some great stuff, and if you haven't seen it already, check out his movie UHF. Kevin McCarthy is absolutely hilarious as the power mad TV exec.

My guide's a few years old but it says $30 - $40 NM for the sleeve alone. I've only seen it a couple times and I know a friend of mine has one. Not long ago I found Bob McFadden's "Shake Rattle And Roll" on Brunswick, and yes, it's done in the "mummy" voice.
Here's a tough sleeve: Sonny Gianotta's "The Last Blast Of The Blasted Bugler" on ABC-Paramount. Finding the record alone is tough, but when I found the PICTURE SLEEVE on a promo copy (hey, it might be promo only...who knows?), I almost fainted. And, no, Gunga Din's not pictured.

Yes, it was a Promo only sleeve...

Ye gods, that's IT!!!! Thanks, Fred! I thought I'd never see another one!!!
Another disc worth mentioning is "Close To You" by The Clams on the Three Brothers label. Folks, if you have to own a Spike Jones-style desecration of The Carpenters' classic, look no further. It is a work of art...and supposedly very rare. The website I found claims (clams?) that only 100 copies were pressed as promo copies and I was lucky to score one out of a former radio station's stock, but a well-known novelty dealer and collector says "I've had several copies over the years"...so who really knows? Anyway, if you have to have one novelty record, this is the one to own.
