comprehensive, mmmmmmmm.

Maybe the "Picture Disc's Of The World Price Guide" International reference book for Picture Records 1923-1989, By JOE LINDSAY.

It is dated but a very good reference book for Picture Disc collectors.

Very hard to find now though....

Hope this helps

Cheers Fantomas,

Hard to find is no joke. A friend of mine mentioned it to me also, can't find it anywhere.

I was considering starting an online database of sorts, so having a large volume of items to begin with would be so useful.

Thanks again

Dusty,

another book might be "The Gimmix Book of Records" by Frank Goldmann and Klaus Hiltscher - but this one is even older than the one Fantomas mentioned (this one is from 1981)

Dusty,

did some research and found two other leads:

André Decerf - Illustrated Encyclopedia of Picture Discs Volume I (so there is more to come..) http://www.78tours.com/picture_disc.html

Peter Bastiné - Th Book of Shapes - Art in records (long out of print, I am searching for this one now for more than 5 years)

Cheers buddy!

I will see about getting hold of those books. Looking forward to oktoberfest?

Mark,

that Hives pink coloured vinyl you have on your site is amazing, where did you find it? ( where did you find the Metallica mis-print as well?)

Also
Extraordinary Records - released by Taschen
This covers both colored vinyl and picture discs.
It's in print.

It's a shame that there are no photos. You think that would be a given with the type of material being dealt with. Basically a text listing of photographs with the no reference photo to see.
